Event Details

The MacGill Summer School is now in its 33rd year. As the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising approaches, the theme of this year's MacGill will focus on how the Irish Republic came into being, on its present state and on the need to reform its political and administrative institutions.

The 2013 MacGill School will be officially opened on Sunday 28th July at 8.30 p.m. and will be followed by the Thirteenth Annual John Hume Lecture which this year will be delivered by the Ombudsman and Information Commissioner, Ms Emily O'Reilly.

During the week there will be generally four sessions on each day at 11.00a.m., 2.30p.m., 4.00 p.m. and 8.30p.m.  Up to fifty speakers will contribute to this year’s theme, LOOKING TO 2016 - HOW STANDS THE REPUBLIC?
